Without proper identification, over 90% of pets do not get returned to their owners.
Of the 10 million pets lost every year, 94% of those with HomeAgain microchips are reunited with their owners. When properly registered, a scanned microchip will alert all shelters and veterinary offices affiliated with HomeAgain in the area of a lost pet, give out emergency medical information, and create a "lost pet" poster. All with just a single phone call and all within minutes of that phone call. Below is a list of benefits for enrolling with HomeAgain.
Once enrolled, your pet is entitled to all the additional benefits of the HomeAgain annual membership, including (other fees may apply):
§ Unlimited updates to your pet or contact information online or by phone
§ 24/7 access to our Lost Pet Specialists
§ Rapid Lost Pet Alerts and Lost Pet Posters
§ Medical Insurance for Lost Dogs or Cats from PetFirst Healthcare (not available in all states)

§ and more!
How does the microchip work?
The microchip itself has no internal energy source, so it will last the life of your pet. It is read by passing a microchip scanner over the pet’s shoulder blades. The scanner emits a low radio frequency that provides the power necessary to transmit the microchip’s unique code and positively identify the pet. HomeAgain is the only microchip on the market today that has the Bio-Bond™ patented anti-migration feature to help ensure that the microchip will stay in place so that it may be easily located and scanned. If your pet gets lost and is taken to an animal shelter or veterinarian, they will scan the microchip to read its unique code. This is the number used by HomeAgain to identify the pet and retrieve your contact information, which is used to contact you and reunite you with your pet.
